The 45-minute video, released late on Thursday, depicts the 33 men chanting “Long live Chile” and “long live the miners” from the gold and copper mine in the north of the country.

“We’ve organized everything really well down here,” said one of the miners pointing to a corner reserved for medical supplies.

“This is where we entertain ourselves, where we have a meeting every day, where we make plans. This is where we pray,” he added.

The footage was taken by a mini-camera lowered 700 meters below the surface by one of the metal capsules that have been carrying supplies to them during their ordeal.

A local judge has ordered the owner of the mine, San Esteban Mining, to freeze 1.8 million dollars in revenue so that it could pay compensation to the families of the trapped workers.

Engineers working on the rescue plan say it would take around four months until the miners can be set free from the shaft, an estimate that has been kept from the men inside the mine.

Chile’s state-owned mining company, not San Esteban, is drilling the escape tunnel which costs around $1.7 million.
